Seriously now a days everyone has misconception about the fasting, so now days people think that eating Sabudana, chips and fruits three times a day known as a fast and this is how the sacred occasions like Mahashivratri, pornima, pradosh when there is a lot cosmic cosmic energy flows in the universe are celebrated without any idea. Also before few generations Navratri fasting concept was also very different and it has changed a lot during our generation.
fasting is actually mean as giving rest to the stomach because the digestion system always keeps working whenever we eat any food or drink, as per the food type the digestion time is taken, so once we do fasting which means eat nothing or just the raw foods for some energy then automatically the all attention and energy is diverted to the mind, and we start feeling more focused, energetic, sharper with the clarity of the thoughts.
And the second main reason of the fasting is gut detoxification, which removes the toxins and increase the health of the gut and increase the immune system, in the Ayurveda or the more ancient scriptures fasting is highly advised and recommended and suggested to be followed per week, but time to time people are forgetting the normal habit of that time because of the fast life, now people only think that what matters.
Fast also helps with the time of the day, because we can save the all cooking time and invest it with the other important work the spiritual people used to say that the saved time can be used for the meditation or the devotional purpose like pray by the heart for the purification of the soul.
so when the meditation is done with the fasting then it has a strong result, because we can go into the stillness mode very easily and there won't be the clouds of the thoughts, we can make focus and have a peaceful meditation. and in result can receive the intuition, clarity and more perceptions, and the innovative ideas.
Recently I have made a post on my new YouTube channel about the meditation techniques and their benefits, so I have shared the link as follows:
Love, light and peace.
